REE patterns for rhyolites A and B from the eastern Ambler area (upper) and various rifted continental margin rhyolites. These and other chemical data suggest that the essentially bimodal volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks of the Ambler sequence accumulated in shallow marine basins formed on foundering continental crust, which is consistent with the regional geological setting described by Hitzman et al. (1986).
